We're clearing out our winter stock in order to make room for our summer equipment. We have a number of brand new snowshoes for sale. These are quality Tubbs snowshoes available for the low price of $120+HST per pair for adult sizes and $85+HST per for children's sizes. Contact us for size availability.

As well, we have a selection of inline skates in like-new condition. We're practically giving away these top-of-the-line K2 roller blades at just $100+HST per pair for adult sizes and $70+HST per pair for children's sizes. Contact us for size availability.

Change of Season

DayTripping will be open only in the mornings this week to accommodate our seasonal equipment changeover. That's right, we're putting away the skis and snowshoes and bringing out the boats and bikes. We'll be open from 9 am to 12 noon Monday to Friday, March 22-26.

Our phone and e-mail will continue to be answered so please contact us with any inquiries.

We'll resume our regular hours on Saturday, which are 10 am to 5 pm every day but Monday.

Nordic Walking at Commex bus stop

The Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning Nordic Walking group will be changed to its summer location starting Monday, March 22. Meet at the Commex bus stop parking lot in Quispamsis (behind the bowling alley on the old Hampton Road) to leave at 9:30 a.m. The walk instructor at this location is Colleen Graham.

If you are looking for a fun and an enthusiastic walking group, let Yennah Hurley and her trained Nordic Walking Instructors take you on a great walk. They meet all over the city five days a week morning or evening. All you have to do is show up at any of the following locations.

Morning Nordic Walking Groups:
Monday - Wednesday - Friday -  Commex Bus Stop parking lot (behind the bowling alley on the old Hampton Road in Quispamsis), 9:30 am.
Tuesday and Thursday - DayTripping @ Rockwood Park, 9:30 am.

Evening Nordic Walking Groups:
Monday – Red Whale Parking Lot, Quispamsis, 6:30 pm.
Tuesday – Alex Coffin's Fitness Shop, Harbour Passage, Market Square, 6:30 pm.
Thursday – DayTripping @ Rockwood Park, 6:30 pm.

These walks are led by certified Nordic Walking instructors. Come try it out! It’s free to try. Once you discover how beneficial Nordic Walking is, we offer Nordic Walking poles for rent or purchase.

Leadership Challenge Day Camp

Become a Leader, Learn Survival Skills, Seek Adventure and Have Fun!

Who?

This camp is for youth ages 10 to 14 who want to explore being leaders as they expand their knowledge of wilderness survival. It is hosted by DayTripping, an outdoor adventure company based in Rockwood Park. It will be lead by highly skilled staff with extensive experience and training in delivering summer adventure camps for youth.

What?

Our Leadership Challenge Day Camp is designed to build leadership aptitude in a fun environment, with exciting, challenging activities centered around learning wilderness survival skills.

Instructors will teach the young leaders new skills which they will put into practice, taking turns being placed in leadership roles. They’ll practice survival skills in small groups, helping their peers and learn from each other as they accomplish tasks. On the final day of camp, they’ll combine all of their skills in a day-long geo-challenge race.

When?

It’s a five-day camp being run twice this summer. The first camp will run July 19-23 and the second will run July 26-30. Enrolment is limited to 30 youth per camp. Each day will run from 8:30 am until 5:30 pm.

Where?

Camp Headquarters will be at the Villa Madonna Retreat House in Rothesay, New Brunswick. Dozens of acres of woodland with walking trails, fields and a beach on the Kennebacasis River make for a perfect setting for hands-on learning and adventure.

What does it cost?

$200 + HST per child

What’s that include?

  • use of all of the equipment required for the various activities
  • leadership by qualified instructors
  • two healthy snacks and a lunch every day
  • kid-friendly bug spray and sunscreen
