Rock Climbing Course

Top-Roping & Anchor Building

This intensive two-day program is designed to teach new climbers how to safely set up top-rope rock climbs climbing areas. By the end of the 2-days participants should feel comfortable heading out on their own for a day on the rocks at crags where the top is accessible without having to lead climb. Many different anchor setups will be taught and practiced with emphasis on safety and simplicity. Proper set up of rappels will also be covered.

This course is taught a climbing instructor with 25-years experience and training by the ACMG (Association of Cdn Mountain Guides) and PCIA (Professional Climbing Instructors Association).

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Maritime DayTripping Inc. is pleased to begin offering weekly beginner's drop-in rock climbing sessions. These sessions will be held every Thursday from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM, and will cost $15.00 per person, tax included. Drop by if you feel like trying something new!

Red Cross Wilderness First Aid Training Program

Red Cross Wilderness & Remote First Aid and Standard First Aid

These are experiential minimum 20 hour or 40 hour (Advanced Wilderness Remote First Aid) courses (more) designed for individuals who will be participating in wilderness activities within hours or days of advanced medical care. These courses will enable participants to have an appreciation for the realities of providing First Aid in a wilderness & remote environment. Emphasis will be on practical skills, decision making, and management of the outdoor environment.

What: Red Cross Wilderness Remote First Aid (+ advanced extra day option)

Where: Maritime DayTripping, Lily Lake Pavilion, Rockwood Park, Saint John, NB

When: Fri. Sept 7 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (+ homework)

Sat. Sept 8 8:00 am – overnight (camping)

Sun. Sept 9 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

(Advanced optional day) Thurs, Sept 13, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Cost - $195.00 (plus HST) ($275 for Advanced WRFA - extra day)

On Monday, August 6th, 2012, Maritime DayTripping Inc. will be hosting a FREE BOATING EVENT in partnership with Saint John Leisure Services. Bring your family down to the park for some fun on this special day for New Brunswick. Everyone welcome!

Kayaking Instruction: Roll & Rescue

Beginning Wednesday, July 4th 2012, DayTripping NB will be offering weekly roll & rescue courses in which you will learn how to get "back on your feet" should you ever find yourself capsized in your kayak.

Dates: Wednesdays each week, beginning July 4th

Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Price: $10.00 per night for persons with their own kayak, $20.00 per night for persons who wish to use one of ours.

Big Canoe Race @ Rockwood Park

   This Saturday, June 30th, beginning at 10:00 AM there will be a big canoe race happening at Lily Lake in Rockwood Park! In addition to the race, there will be food, good company, and even a free, public Rock Climbing event hosted by Rob Lemmon and Maritime DayTripping Inc.from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM!
